A Comic Twist on the Southwest Open Seating Policy

By: Christi Day - Public Relations Coordinator

The guys from Curtis Needs a Ride really wowed us with their comedic take on the "Travel Tips" video so we asked them to use their stylings to tackle the infamous Open Seating Policy.   As one could imagine, these guys are a thrill to work with and their one-liners kept me laughing all day!

So enjoy this video, aptly titled: "Mackin' Across the Country"

Honor Flight Cleveland

By: Ana Schwager - Nashville Marketing Manager

I had the pleasure of joining Team CLE recently as we boarded a very special group of Customers. Honor Flight is a non-profit organization created to honor America's Veterans for all their sacrifices, and Southwest Airlines has the privilege of being the airline of choice for the Honor Flight ClevelandhonorflightCLE8_thumb Veterans. The third Wednesday of each month these Veterans board flight 2065 from Cleveland to Baltimore/Washington and spend the day in Washington, DC visiting their memorials. Then, as quickly as the one-hour flight took them to DC, the last flight from BWI to CLE brings them home. honorflightCLE6_thumbThis Wednesday was extra special as it marked the one-year anniversary of the flight. The festivities included a special pre-flight ceremony in which Honor Flight Cleveland and Southwest Airlines received proclamations from Cleveland Mayor Frank G. Jackson's office and, as thehonor flight 002_thumb Veterans taxied to the runway, they were sent off with a special water arch shot from the Cleveland Fire Department's water cannons. I can't thank Team CLE enough for allowing me to be part and this special day and I'd like to thank everyone in CLE who provides that Positively Outrageous Service that is Southwest Airlines. Team CLE, I know the volunteers from Honor Flight can't thank you enough for helping make this day so special for our Veterans. Southwest Leadership Pays Tribute to Colleen

By: Christi Day - Public Relations Coordinator

Some of the great Leaders at Southwest shared their thoughts about Colleen in this tribute video.  It was created as part of an event held recently in Dallas to honor Colleen and Herb Kelleher and raise money for the Frontiers of Flight Museum.  After having the honor of coordinating this video shoot, it became so evident that we probably could've put together a few hours of footage! There were so many great memories of Colleen!  Thanks to all who participated and thanks Colleen for providing such great "content!" Enjoy!

Serenading Colleen

By: Bob Hurst - Senior Analyst Technology

You never know what's going to happen when our Culture Committee Members from all 64 cities get together for their Quarterly Meeting.

At our June meeting, Wayne Campbell, a Manager at our San Jose Provisioning Base, decided to serenade Colleen because it was her last such meeting as President of Southwest.

As always, he did a great job!
